Trip to D.C. (Part II)
More Shots of our time in d.c.
The facade of Akwaaba, the B& B we stayed at. It has an African-American literary theme, with rooms named after famous writers: The Toni Morrison Room, The Langston Hughes Room, etc. We stayed in the Science Fiction Room (pics forthcoming) which paid homage to Octavia Butler.
From the Native American Museum. An artist used his own body in this piece, which (among other things) responds to governmental programs that scientifically assessed, prodded and attempted to categorize the Native American population.
From Mama's Organ, a bar/restaurant in the Adams Morgan section.
