Arrival at Ferrum

Today is the first day of my NEH fellowship at Ferrum College. The first picture represents my first tank of gas on this journey, bought for 40 bucks at a gas station in Parkersburg, WV. My journey began with a plane trip from Albany to Columbus, and a car trip from Columbus to Parkersburg to get my sister's car. From there I headed south (see 2nd pic) through West Virginia on I77, and stayed at my Mom's in Eccles on Saturday, and then drove to Ferrum today.
While the scenery on the drive down from WV to VA was spectacular, I didn't have time to get out of the car and take pics. So, the other two pictures on this entry are of my dorm room at Ferrum. The first one is the view upon entering the suite, and my room is the second door on the left. The final picture is one of my actual room. This dorm was first open this year so its clean and comfortable. There are 4 rooms in this suite (only 3 of which are occupied) and 2 bathrooms. So, I am very happy and confortable.
Will write more tomorrow as I have to read for the morning's seminars.
